It’s time to upgrade your computer and one of the components was the motherboard MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI purchased in online store. I decided to write a short review on it. Perhaps I’ll start with the box.

The box looks just fine. Interesting bright design with the MSI logo, the full name of the motherboard model. There is also information about the socket of the processor and the chipset.

The back also has the full name of the motherboard and in the middle of the box is its image. In general, on the back side there are a lot of different information that I will describe in more detail later in my review.

Opening the box, we see the motherboard itself packed in an antistatic bag. The internal part is divided into two sections, and having taken its upper part to us, the accompanying equipment of the board opens.

Two Wi-Fi antennas.

Also included in the package is a driver and utility disk from the MSI manufacturer, two 6 Gb/s SATA cables, an 80 cm extension cable for connecting the Rainbow RGB LED, and, as for me, all that’s worthless.

I almost forgot to mention two bolts for the M.2 connector on the motherboard. They fix SSD drives.

Well, finally, I will go on to review the board itself.

The motherboard MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI has a top-end AMD X570 chipset for the AM4 socket. The board supports processors of the Ryzen family of the 2nd and 3rd generation from the box. The processor socket is fixed on the back side with a metal plate into which the processor cooling system is mounted on the front side. The digital power system with a large cooling heatsink has an 8 + 4-pin power connector. For this reason, you need to select a power supply unit with such connectors. For non-top processors, 8 pin connectors are enough. My AMD Ryzen 5 3600X normally started up and there are no complaints about its work.

Since the chipset turned out to be quite hot, a fan is installed on all X570 boards for better cooling. I must say it is quite quiet.

The board supports DDR4 RAM with a frequency of up to 4400 MHz and a capacity of up to 128 gigabytes.

The board has two PCIe 4.0 / 3.0 slots. Support for PCIe 4.0 begins with the 3rd generation Ryzen.

Right above the first slot is a place for an M.2 SSD drive. It is closed by a heat-sink cooling radiator. As for me, the decision is moot. Usually, a video card is placed in the first PCIe slot and the hot air from it will additionally heat the disk. Total M.2 ports two pieces.

The sound on the board is represented by 8-channel (7.1) Realtek ALC1220. It is a normal controller. The network here Realtek 8111H has a bandwidth of up to 1000 Mbps.

Almost all the connectors on the motherboard are located in a row at the bottom of the board. I will not list everything, I’ll just say that they are quite enough for all tasks. Separately, I note the presence of connectors for connecting RGB tapes and adjusting the backlight of fans using the Mystic Light program. I played enough of the backlight in the last computer and bought a completely enclosed case, so for me they are not important. But for many collectors, beautiful systems will definitely not be redundant.

I’ll tell you about the connectors on the back of the motherboard.

There are both USB 2.0 and more modern 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and one USB Type-C port for connecting a keyboard, HDMI output for outputting images from the integrated graphics of the processor. At the bottom are the audio connectors and the Optical SPDIF digital port, which is important for me. It is found on boards of an older price segment. There is a gigabit port for connecting an Internet cable, and for those who want less wires there is Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi module here is dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz with a speed of up to 433 Mbit/s. Summing up, I want to say that the motherboard from the company MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI turned out balanced, meeting all modern standards. Everyone for themselves will find, of course, both the pros and cons in this board. I am completely satisfied with the purchase. I hope you enjoyed my review.
