Overview on RAM Crucial DDR4 16Gb (2x8Gb) 3000Mhz PC-24000 Ballistix White
2 min readSet of RAM modules Crucial Ballistix White BL2K8G30C15U4W. The modules support an XMP 3000 MHz profile with timings of 15-16-16-35 at 1.35V, the characteristics are indicated on each module.
The previous version of the Crucial Ballistix Sport modules with the AES index has truly gained popular popularity due to the affordable price and good overclocking potential of Micron e-die chips. Ballistix Sport was discontinued and new Crucial Ballistix modules appeared on the market with a more rigorous design.
The packaging of the modules is standard: a blister in a cardboard box. The blister is sealed and can not be opened without damaging it.
Thaiphoon Burner shows that the modules have the same Micron e-die 19nm chips.
The modules were installed in an Intel based system. MSI Z390-A Pro motherboard, Intel Core i5-9600kf cpu. RAM started without problems with a frequency of 2666 MHz. After installing the XMP profile in the BIOS, the modules earned on the declared frequency and timings. Performance indicators and delays when working on an XMP profile in AIDA64:
We are trying to overclock the RAM. Having experience overclocking Crucial Ballistix Sport modules, he immediately set the frequency to 3600 with timings 16-19-19-36 at a voltage of 1.4V. The stability test with these settings memory was successful and here is the result in AIDA64:
We see that the speed of RAM has increased significantly and the delays have decreased. Already can be considered a good result. There is no point in increasing the frequency and voltage further, so we will try to improve the result by setting secondary timings. The final results of memory speed and latency in AIDA64:
Timings in Asrock Timing Configurator:
After all the settings, it is necessary to test the RAM for stability in order to avoid future failures in the PC. Our modules successfully passed this test in the TestMem5 v0.12 program:
Summing up, we can say that we received memory modules with an updated design from Crucial of the same excellent quality as the previous version of Ballistix. Given the cost and overclocking potential, this memory is suitable for both assemblies based on Intel, and assemblies based on AMD. Well, and everyone can choose the color to taste: white, red, black.
I am definitely satisfied with the purchase, I recommend it to everyone to improve the performance of their computers.

Thanks for this!
After being happy with XMP to 3000Mhz, I thought I’d try these settings and timings. I was able to achieve the same results on the “red” versions of these, but on an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (OC’d to 4.35Ghz all cores) rig on a B550AM mobo in a 4 x 8gb DDR4 DIMM configuration loading up all 4 slots.
All 4 sticks for 32Gb DDR4 RAM that’s stable (benchmarked and stress-tested) at 3600Mhz 16-19-19-36 @ 1.4V is incredible value!
