Hello dear readers, I am glad to welcome you on the review page dedicated to the Palit GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER GP 6144MB video card (NE6166S018J9-1160A) purchased in online store.

Just a week ago (at the time I wrote this review), Nvidia presented another model in its already extremely wide model range of the current generation – namely, the GTX 1660 graphics card as part of a campaign to confuse a potential buyer and in no way react to all its competitor actions. SUPER. For the time being, this is nothing more than a refresh for the GTX 1660 model that has been on the market for a long time, but with a different type of memory – GDDR6, operating at a frequency of 14000 MHz. This gives an increase in memory bandwidth by an impressive figure of 75% – for comparison, 192 GB/s on the GTX 1660 and 336 GB/s on the new model with the Super prefix. Thanks to this, the new product not only outstrips its predecessor, but also practically catches up with the older model in the line – GTX 1660 Ti, and costs significantly less. Naturally,

The video card is delivered in a box that is quite standard for Palit products (if you have ever held their hands) – the general black and green color scheme, the name of the manufacturer in large gold letters.

On the back of the box are some technical specifications in several languages, including Polish and English.

On both sides the box is sealed with stickers – seals. Cutting them and opening the box, we find inside another one, made of more rigid cardboard. And already inside it, in the form of their protective foam material, the video card itself is in an antistatic package. The package bundle is frankly poor – in addition to the video card itself, in the box you can find only a small book with instructions for installation and operation.

The graphics accelerator itself has a simple and concise design. Black plastic casing, two 90 mm fans.

On the side – the inscription GeForce GTX, bordered by a white LED strip – a tribute to modern fashion to highlight everything and everything inside the system unit. If you have a case with a transparent side wall, perhaps you will appreciate it, but to me, as the owner of a completely closed case, such things are somehow indifferent.

On the back of the video card is a plastic backplate, another tribute to not the most reasonable modern fashion. A metal backplate makes sense – both to give rigidity and to remove heat, plastic models (let’s call a spade a spade) cannot perform these functions by definition, but for some reason manufacturers put them all the same. Personally, I would prefer that he was not there at all, but, alas, he is here.

The video card cooling system consists of an aluminum radiator with two copper heat pipes, and two 90 mm fans. At the base of the radiator is a massive metal plate in contact with power elements and memory chips.

Fans do not have an idle stop function and constantly rotate. The minimum rotation speed (when the card is operating without load) is 1000 RPM. Under load, the fans spin up to 1600-1700 RPM, keeping the temperature of the graphic chip within 65-66 degrees Celsius. The noise of the fans at such speeds can be called comfortable.

For the video card to work, additional power must be connected through the 8-pin connector.
