Review on Smart TV LG 49LK5910PLC

The LG Smart TV model 49LK5910PLC in black is not the newest device – introduced in 2018, but at the same time it has quite good characteristics, although it can not boast of ultra-high resolution and high definition picture 4K.

The TV comes in a large branded box, you can even order in a very large one – it will fit into the trunk of not every car. On the front side of the box is a schematic representation of the TV itself with legs.
The main features and advantages of the TV are also indicated on the box:
- WebOS Smart TV is an easy-to-use, intuitive and yet quite functional TV operating system, which in many ways has become one of the criteria in choosing this particular manufacturer. Logic and functionality liked immediately, while reading reviews. The market has a sufficiently large number of necessary applications, including for watching iptv, which significantly expands the capabilities of the TV, turning it into a full-fledged multimedia home entertainment center.
- Dynamic Color is a technology that selectively increases the brightness and saturation of six colors, including RGB. The colors are crisp, and the picture on the screen, in turn, is more realistic. I want to note right away that this option of image processing is not for everyone, it’s good that you can turn off this mode and use the TV as usual.
- Active HDR – technology extends the dynamic range of the displayed image, increasing the quality of transmission of image details in a particularly complex scene. If possible, brings the image closer to that which is accessible to the human eye. Colors in this mode are not quite similar to natural.
- Virtual Surround Plus – virtual surround sound allows you to enjoy higher quality images through the use of special processing algorithms. Improving the quality of the image, like all other computing functions in the TV, is controlled by the powerful quad-core processor of the TV.
The inside of the box is additionally lined with molded foam to preserve the contents. This approach is quite standard for manufacturers of household appliances, but too environmentally friendly – I would like to see a recycled card.
At the same time, the foam copes with its function perfectly. The TV is well fixed.
The delivery set is simple and concise, they did not put anything superfluous:
- Remote control;
- 2 AAA batteries;
- Power cable.
In the box are still legs for installing the TV on the table.
The shape of the legs is so typical that they can be found on the vast majority of modern TVs. One gets the impression that not a single manufacturer is engaged in the design and manufacture of these legs – a separate factory for their production has been built and the largest brands order them there.
It was immediately decided not to use the legs and place the TV on the wall in the kitchen. For me, the size of the TV for the kitchen is the most suitable.
To realize the possibility of placing the TV on the wall, there are four mounting holes according to the VESA standard 300 x 300 mm. Most mounts are suitable both with a fixed position, there and with the possibility of rotation relative to the wall.
When choosing a mount, you must pay attention to the location of the connectors – they all look towards the wall and buy a mount that does not work a short distance from the wall – it will be very inconvenient to connect the antenna cable. I recommend buying swivel mounts, in my opinion, they are more convenient and practical. And in their strength they are not inferior to the fixed ones.
On the side surface there is an additional HDMI connector, a connector for a USB flash drive or an external hard drive (I have earned 1TB without problems) and a slot for installing the CAM module of cable television providers.
The TV operating system promotes a tiled design and it is really convenient, the control is logical and understandable. In terms of the totality of qualities, the TV is really very good, it suits me. It was bought two years ago and the price has fallen quite a lot during this time.
I recommend to buy if you need a large TV with excellent image quality and smart capabilities.
