This year’s processor, from a variety of reviews on the Internet, they write that the raw BIOS is very hot, the voltage and frequency for each core are jumping. Alas, that’s all.
The processor got into the motherboard as a native, there were no problems with the installation. A cooler landed well on it – at first glance. As it turned out later, not good. It is necessary to apply titanic efforts to fasten the bolts that secure this cooler to the motherboard. Even if it seems to you that you screwed it tightly and firmly, I advise you to disassemble everything, look at the imprint of thermal paste on the cooler and processor, and if everything is even, then you did everything right. In my case, the processor after the first start gave out a temperature of 90 degrees, I got a little shocked, and when it also turned off itself, I had a panic attack – the processor is not cheap.
The reason was that the cooler did not fit snugly against the processor (it was visible by thermal paste after removing it). Perhaps the problem is still in the cooler, outwardly, the mount at it is smooth and does not go in waves, but for some reason, to install everything correctly and pull it in – attempts with the third one came out. Now the processor’s operating temperature at rest is from 37 degrees to 50, while video encoding reached 92 degrees, the average is 70-80). Alas, it’s hot anyway. At the same time, 99% was set in the power settings for the processor and this allowed another 5-10 degrees to lower the average temperature at rest of the computer.
The manufacturer indicates the operating normal temperature of 65 degrees, and the maximum temperature of 95. Still, in the future, it may be necessary to change the cooling to water? (Assembly pickers proposed to supply a cooler from NH-U12S AM4), but its price tag is $80. And for this amount, can we take water cooling? For me this is still an open question. After reinstalling WIN10 from basic to corporate, the temperature does not rise more than 50 degrees at all. When working on the Internet, keeps at 35-40 degrees.
Due to the fact that I installed the system on a Samsung SSD, loading takes 20-30 seconds (and they still write that it takes a long time), it turns off in 10 seconds. The Adobe premier program itself can be loaded very quickly, now it’s nice to work in it. Color correction miscalculation (rendering) is not required preliminary, in real time you can see all your superimposed Lut, plugins, etc. Corrected the speed – immediately see the result. In the preview windows, you can quickly see all your pieces of the video. The film is 2.40 minutes with Cosmo, denoiser, lut, RGB lines and other small color works applied, it encoded 10 hours exactly.
The question is about the load on the cores: it was not complete, some core gave 0, some 90%, etc. The load and voltage jump constantly, as in a leapfrog, and for me personally, it is not clear whether this should be so or not. Perhaps, when loading all the cores at the same level, the performance would also improve and the rendering would be even faster. With this I will still be broken. Perhaps the system itself chose such a load so that the processor itself would not overheat and cut off, and it was such a load that could keep the operating temperature within 90 degrees?
In general, there is an option to purchase this processor in OEM packaging, but the fact is that the difference here with BOX is just tiny. And since The stock cooler, anyway, according to users, needs to be replaced with a more powerful one, now the cooler from this processor is simply lying idle for now.
In the photo above – this is a cooler that comes bundled with this processor. The photo shows that the processor is packed and the cooler is excellent. No complaints. The cooler itself is also beautiful, I liked it more than the one I purchased additionally. The stock cooler also has a backlight and glows.
Actually, you can look at any comparative tests for this processor on the Internet, there are a lot of them. Under the tasks that were necessary for me, he went up and performed them wonderfully. Perhaps, with a more improved Bios, which I hope the manufacturers are finalizing, it will at least warm up less. The frequency limit under which he himself accelerates 4.4 using the Core Temp program.
